Raising Global Awareness

Session Description: In an effort to increase student awareness of major global issues, including the United Nations 17 Millennial Goals, a group of faculty and student-body representatives are putting together several exciting activities for the campus Earth Day celebration. These include an essay contest, art contest, STEM presentations, and more. By coming to this session and through sharing of faculty experiences, find your unique path to salary advancement at GWC. I will present practical information and advice from my experience as an Institute for Professional Development (IPD) committee member, librarian, and someone who has just moved to the 5th column! HYFLEX – Introduction to GWC Data Dashboards
Presenters: Jeannette Jaramillo & Uyen Tran
Session Description: In this session, GWC Research Analysts will go over examples of data dashboards that are available and how to navigate through the different pages and filters available on individual dashboards. A data dashboard is a visual analysis tool which allows for the management of data through graphs, charts and data tables. Furthermore, data dashboards can be drilled down by term, academic year, subject or student groups. GWC Research Dashboards provide at-a-glance snapshots of Key Performance Indicators such as retention, success, completion, and transfer.

We have a new tool in Canvas to help faculty check the accessibility level of their course in Canvas. Learn how to use the new Pope Tech Accessibility Dashboard to get a high-level view and how to drill down and focus on specific errors or alerts. The tool includes easy to understand explanations and suggestions how to resolve issues.
