Your One-Stop Shop for Student Success

Golden West College has resources to support students to overcome challenges outside the classroom, and provide direct assistance to students, connect them with critical on- and off-campus resources, and offer holistic educational opportunities that retain our students and lead them to complete their goals at Golden West College. 

Basic Needs Services:

    • Food & Essentials: The Stand provides free groceries and resources to help fight food insecurity.
    • Transportation:GWC Students have access to FREE transportation using OCTA Bus!
    • Campus & Community Resources: Our Basic Needs team connects you with on-campus and community resources tailored to your needs. Items such as hygiene, baby supplies, and clothing are provided by appointment and are available based on donations received. Schedule an intake appointment today and we'll get back to you within 1-2 business days!
    • Fresh Success: Fresh Success is a Cal Fresh employment and training program that encourages participants to gain education and skills that will lead to better employment and a path to financial independence. Based on various criteria, students can obtain up to $1,000 in eligible basic needs resources this semester to support their success. This includes a monthly internet bill stipend, transportation assistance for in-person courses, reimbursements for minor medical and automobile expenses, childcare stipends, and housing support.
