The ASC hires peer tutors before the fall and spring semesters. If you have a student you think would make a good tutor, please encourage them to apply (our application is accessible from our website during our recruitment periods). If we decide to hire the student, we will contact you for your recommendation.
All tutors are recommended by faculty and trained according to the College Reading & Learning Association (CRLA) certification standards.
The Embedded Tutoring Program at GWC places tutors in a variety of classes to help increase student learning, success, and retention. Embedded tutors work in and/or outside the classroom under the instructor's guidance to help students understand course concepts and enhance student engagement.
To request an embedded tutor for your class, you must complete the online application. The application is available on our website around mid-semester to request an embedded tutor for the following semester. Please visit our Embedded Tutoring Program page for more details.
