Option 1: Results in student completing the CSU General Education Certificate of Achievement. A grade of “C” or better is required for all courses in Area A, the mathematics course in Area B4, and at least 30 of the units completed in Areas A through F. Grades of “credit/pass” can be used if equivalent to a “C." All nursing pre-requisite classes must be passed with a grade of “C” or better for eligibility to the nursing program.

Option 2: Results in student earning the Certified Nurse Assistant Certificate of Completion. The program prepares students to work as entry-level healthcare workers for patients in various settings, including long-term facilities. This course meets the Title 22 regulations in caring for the geriatric population in hospitals, assisted living, and long-term care settings, utilizing skills in basic care, emergency care, and communication. Upon successfully completing the program, the student is eligible to take the Competency Evaluation Examination to become a licensed Certified Nurse Assistant.

Note: CNA License will require a state test if student wants to work as a CNA in the field.

Courses in peach highlight are the pre-requisites for the ADN program. The other courses are pre-requisites for the ADN/CEP program and may be used for many other majors and are transferrable to the CSU and UC system.
