As a student in the Fieldwork in Social Work and Human Services course, you are working with outside agencies to complete the required fieldwork hours and to build your professional skills. It is important for you to be aware of this big commitment.
To fulfill your fieldwork responsibility as instructed by your fieldwork supervisor in a professional manner.
To commit to the agreed work schedule and duties as provided by the agency and in agreement with the fieldwork supervisor.
To notify both your fieldwork supervisor and your fieldwork instructor of any schedule changes or absences.
To follow the agency's policies and regulations when it comes to absences.
To always follow the agency’s policies and regulations.
Abide to any orientation, background checks, fingerprinting, vaccine requirements, drug screening, and any other onboarding requirements the agency has for their fieldwork participants.
To follow the order of reporting in accordance with the agency's policy.
To act professionally at all times as you represent the campus and the agency.
To learn and follow the agency's mission, vision, and goals.
To help and assist clients to the best of your capability, and as instructed by your fieldwork duties set by the agency.
It is the student's responsibility to find a fieldwork placement
It is the student's responsibility to complete and turn in all fieldwork forms.
It is the student's responsibility to communicate to set up their fieldwork hours with the agency.
It is the student's responsibility to complete 54 hours by midsemester and complete the full 108 hours by the end of the 16-week seminar course.
It is the student's responsibility to maintain fieldwork logs of their completed hours and submit the logs as instructed on the Canvas course or course syllabus.
It is the student's responsibility to notify both the agency and the fieldwork instructor of any absence.
It is the student's responsibility to work with the fieldwork supervisor regarding make-up hours.
It is the student's responsibility to inform the fieldwork supervisor and the fieldwork instructor of any concerns.
It is the student's responsibility to follow the agency's confidentiality policies.
It is the student's responsibility to follow the agency's protocols regarding the use of telephones, the Internet, and personal cell phones.
It is the student's responsibility to notify the fieldwork supervisor and fieldwork instructor if the student will discontinue their fieldwork hours. Before terminating fieldwork hours, the student will need to discuss this with their fieldwork instructor.
At no times, shall a student be under the influence of any substance and all relationship with clients, colleagues, other students, and instructors must be professional.
