Can a student who is not currently enrolled at GWC still take the ATI TEAS Exam?
Yes. However, you must complete the free Golden West College application to obtain a Coast Community College District student email address and student ID number. You will also need your Coast District username and password to log in to the computer at the testing center.
Can a student retake the ATI TEAS Exam at GWC if they have already taken it here?
No. Students may only take the ATI TEAS Exam at GWC once. If you have previously taken the ATI TEAS Exam at GWC, you must schedule your retake through the ATI TEAS website or at another authorized testing location. Note: If you previously took the ATI TEAS Exam at another testing location and would like to take it at GWC, please email NursingStudentSuccess@cccd.edu.
How many times can I take the ATI TEAS Exam?
Golden West College does not limit the number of times you may take the ATI TEAS Exam. However, other nursing programs may have different retake policies or score requirements. Be sure to contact each school directly to verify its admissions requirements.
What is the passing score for the ATI TEAS Exam?
For admission to the Golden West College School of Nursing, a minimum score of 62% is required. Please note that a competitive score for admission is typically 70% or higher. Passing score requirements vary by nursing program.

We recommend the following preparation strategies:

When will I receive my ATI TEAS Exam results?
You will receive your unofficial score report immediately after completing your exam at GWC.
Do I need to bring a calculator or computer?
No. A computer, two pencils, and scratch paper will be provided. A built-in calculator is available within the ATI testing platform for the Mathematics section of the exam.
What forms of identification are accepted at the testing site?
All test candidates must present a valid photo ID to enter the testing site. Acceptable forms of identification include:
- A current, non-expired government-issued photo ID
- A Golden West College or Coast Community College District student ID
Can I request testing accommodations?
Yes. Testing accommodations are available for students who have been approved through Golden West College Disabled Students Programs and Services (DSPS). Accommodation requests for the ATI TEAS Exam must be be approved and submitted at least 10 business days before the scheduled exam date.
