Volunteering in the Garden

Poppy flowers in the GWC Native Garden

The Native Garden is home to a dedicated and passionate group of volunteers who meet every Tuesday and Thursday morning, contributing nearly 1,000 hours of work each year.

Our volunteers are the heart of the Garden — without them, the GWC Native Garden simply wouldn’t exist. In addition to tasks like weeding, raking, installing and cleaning plant labels, basic propagation, and pruning, volunteers also assist with educational programs and guiding visitors.

Volunteering at the Garden offers a wonderful opportunity to deepen your knowledge of native plants and enhance gardening skills. And, of course, there’s always time for coffee, conversation, and a smile by the end of the morning!

We’d love to have you join us. If you’re interested in becoming a volunteer, please reach out to Dan Songster at songster@cox.net.
