Language Arts Complex - Measure M:
Construction activity continues with interior painting, and installation of casework, ceilings, doors/hardware, and flooring. Exterior finishing continues with porcelain tile, terra cotta, and metal panel installation. Site work and grading may commence depending on rain; if site work is possible, use caution around heavy equipment entering Parking lot C. Work in manholes in front of the Bookstore and in the area behind the Bookstore continues intermittently. Please watch for barricades around open manholes and use caution in these areas. Portions of Parking Lot C remain barricaded for construction traffic; there is no parking within the barricades. Please watch for and obey the flagmen in this area. Roads and walkways within fenced off construction areas are not accessible to pedestrian traffic; please use alternate routes to get around Campus. Exercise caution around construction vehicles and areas surrounding the construction site. Noise level will be low for these activities. Technology Bldg Irrigation/Landscape Improvement Project - Campus:
Work continues on the irrigation and vegetation upgrade in the area surrounding the Technology Bldg this week. Exercise caution around this area and stay clear of landscaping equipment/activity. Noise level will be moderate to high for these activities. (See attached map [PDF] for work areas)
Concrete Work - Campus:
Concrete work will be done in various areas on campus this week. Please use caution around delineated work areas. Site Restoration Project- Campus: Restoration of the demolition site from the old KOCE building is in progress. The site, which is located on the east side of campus between the Amphitheater and Fine Arts, north of Forum 2, will remain fenced off with no public access within the fence. Campus Wi-Fi Project - District:
Wireless Access Points are being upgraded throughout campus. Contractors will be on campus relocating WAPs on buildings, and boring inside some buildings, and at track and field. Crews will utilize bore rigs to bore into the ground for access to underground wires in order to connect additional antennas to the campus Wi-Fi. Boring contractors will delineate the work areas. Please use caution around construction vehicles and equipment, and avoid these areas.
